Irelia in League Classic: Legacy Kit and Changes
Classic Irelia brings back Hiten Style, Equilibrium Strike and the four-blade Transcendent Blades. Here is the legacy kit, how it compares to today’s Irelia, and the Patch 26.21 nerf.

At a glance
The Classic kit
Passive, Ionian Fervor: you gain Tenacity that scales with the number of visible enemy champions close to you, so crowd control wears off faster the deeper you dive into a group. Q, Bladesurge: a dash onto an enemy that hits and applies on-hit effects. Kill the target with it and the whole cooldown comes back, along with part of the mana spent, which makes last-hitting minions with Q your main way to move around a fight. W, Hiten Style: a passive heal on every basic attack, plus an active window where your attacks add true damage and heal you for more. This is your trading tool and your sustain in one button. E, Equilibrium Strike: a short-range hit that slows the target, but stuns instead if their health percentage is higher than yours. The stun is strongest when you are already behind in the trade. R, Transcendent Blades: four blades fired one after another in a straight line, each damaging every enemy it passes through and healing you a little. It clears waves, but its real value is extra damage and sustain in an extended fight.
- Passive - Ionian Fervor
- Irelia gains bonus Tenacity based on how many visible enemy champions are nearby.
- Q - Bladesurge
- Irelia dashes to an enemy, dealing damage and applying on-hit effects. If it kills the target, Bladesurge’s full cooldown and some of its mana cost are refunded.
- W - Hiten Style
- Passively, Irelia restores some health with every attack. While active, her attacks deal bonus true damage and restore even more health.
- E - Equilibrium Strike
- Irelia damages and slows a nearby enemy. If they have higher %HP than her, she stuns them instead..
- R - Transcendent Blades
- Irelia sequentially fires out four blades in a line, each damaging all enemies they hit and restoring some health to Irelia. This is definitely not just a wave clear tool.
How it differs from today’s Irelia
Passive: Tenacity instead of attack speed stacks
Q: same dash, narrower reset
W: sustain and true damage instead of a charged block
E: a conditional targeted stun
R: four line blades instead of a blade wall
Classic patch history
Patch 26.21
Riot’s reasoning
The Classic version launched too strong, so this patch rolls back old durability buffs and restores the original Tenacity stacking to push her toward mobility and smart target choice.
Base Stats
- Base Health
- 546changed to 515
- Health Regeneration
- 8.15changed to 6.5
PassiveIonian Fervor
- Stacking with Tenacity Items
- Additivechanged to Multiplicative
Lower base health and regeneration mean early trades cost more, so lean on Hiten Style healing rather than lane regen. Your Q resets and target choice matter more than raw durability now. Stacking Tenacity items with the passive no longer adds up in full, so the passive alone covers less of your crowd control defense.
