Ezreal in League Classic: Legacy Kit and Changes

Classic Ezreal brings back a healing Essence Flux and a real AP playstyle. Here is what the patch notes confirm about the legacy kit, how it compares to live Ezreal, and what Patch 26.22 changed.

At a glance

Ezreal in League Classic is an older version of the champion with two real playstyles, AD and AP, instead of the single AD identity you know from the live game. The first thing a live-game player notices is Essence Flux: in Classic it carries a healing effect, which turns a healer-leaning AP Ezreal into a genuine option.

Ezreal is in the mode as of Patch 26.22, the first Classic patch we have on record for him, and that same patch already gave him buffs. See the rest of the roster on our League Classic champions page.

The Classic kit

Riot’s Classic notes do not include a full ability-by-ability text for Ezreal’s legacy kit, so this section sticks to what the entries confirm. He has been in the mode since Patch 26.22, and everything below comes from that patch’s entry.

W, Essence Flux: scales with ability power and has a healing effectiveness value, which means the Classic version heals. The notes describe this healer style as unique to Classic Ezreal.
E, Arcane Shift: carries an ability power ratio, so AP items add real value to the blink as well as to W.
Two builds, one kit: the notes treat AD Ezreal and AP Ezreal as separate playstyles, with the AD version described as performing well and the AP version as underperforming before the buffs.
Passive, Q and R: the Classic entries say nothing about Rising Spell Force, Mystic Shot or Trueshot Barrage, so we cannot confirm how they read in the legacy kit.
