Fiddlesticks in League Classic: Kit and Changes

Classic Fiddlesticks swaps the live Reap slash for Dark Wind, a bouncing damage spell. Here is what the Classic notes say about his kit and the Patch 26.22 adjustment.

Fiddlesticks in League Classic at a glance

Fiddlesticks in League Classic is the scarecrow with an older E: Dark Wind, a damage spell that bounces, in place of the live game’s Reap slash. That is the first thing a live player notices. His E is built around damage on each bounce rather than one aimed scythe swing.

He arrived in League Classic in Patch 26.22, and those same notes already adjusted his Dark Wind damage. He sits alongside the rest of the roster on our League Classic champions page.

The Classic kit

The Classic notes describe one ability in detail: his E, Dark Wind. Patch 26.22 is the first Classic patch on record for him, and the entry there is a balance adjustment rather than a full kit introduction, so the notes only confirm what Dark Wind does.

  • E – Dark Wind: a spell that deals damage every time it bounces. Each bounce has base damage that grows with rank, plus 45% AP at every rank. The 26.22 notes add that its mana cost climbs as you put points into it.
  • Passive, Q, W and R: the Classic notes do not describe them. Read the in-game tooltips before your first game rather than assuming they match the live kit.

The 26.22 notes also treat Classic Fiddlesticks as a threat in two roles, jungle and support. The Dark Wind adjustment was aimed at both at once, which tells you the spell carries much of his value wherever he is played.

How it differs from today’s Fiddlesticks

The E is the one confirmed difference between Classic and live Fiddlesticks. Today’s Fiddlesticks, covered in our Fiddlesticks guide, uses Reap, a scythe slash that slows everyone it hits and silences enemies caught in the center. Classic Dark Wind instead deals damage on each bounce, so its value comes from repeated hits rather than landing the sweet spot of a slash.

  • Passive: live Fiddlesticks has A Harmless Scarecrow, which replaces his trinket with scarecrow effigies. The Classic notes do not mention his passive, so they neither confirm nor rule out a match.
  • Q: live Terrify fears a target when he damages enemies with spells while unseen, or when he activates it on an enemy. The Classic notes say nothing about his Q.
  • W: live Bountiful Harvest drains health from nearby enemies and finishes with bonus execute damage. The Classic notes say nothing about his W.
  • E: different. Live Reap is a slow-and-silence slash; Classic Dark Wind is a bouncing damage spell with 45% AP scaling.
  • R: live Crowstorm surrounds him with crows that damage every enemy in the area each second. The Classic notes say nothing about his R.

In practice, the habit to drop is aiming your E for a center-hit silence. With Dark Wind, think about how many bounces the spell can get off rather than where the edge of a slash lands. For the live kit’s numbers, use the Fiddlesticks stats and builds page, which tracks today’s version only.

Classic patch history

Classic Fiddlesticks has one balance entry so far, an adjustment in Patch 26.22 to Dark Wind’s damage per bounce. Base damage moved from 65 / 85 / 105 / 125 / 145 to 50 / 75 / 100 / 125 / 150, with the 45% AP ratio untouched. Ranks 1 to 3 lose damage, rank 4 stays level and rank 5 gains a little, so early Dark Wind hits softer while a fully ranked E ends slightly stronger. The full list sits in our patch notes hub.

Fiddlesticks

Adjusted
Riot’s reasoning

The Dark Wind damage change trims how fast Fiddlesticks deals damage in both jungle and support while keeping each extra rank of the increasingly expensive E worth buying.

EDark Wind

Damage per Bounce
65 / 85 / 105 / 125 / 145 + 45% APchanged to 50 / 75 / 100 / 125 / 150 + 45% AP
MID.GG analysis

Lower damage at ranks 1 to 3 makes early Dark Wind less punishing, whether he is clearing camps or trading from the support role. Rank 4 is unchanged and rank 5 rises slightly, so the spell’s full strength now arrives only once it is fully ranked, which shifts more of his threat later into the game.

Frequently asked questions

What is different about Fiddlesticks in League Classic?

The clearest difference is his E. Classic Fiddlesticks uses Dark Wind, a spell that deals damage on every bounce and scales with 45% AP. Live Fiddlesticks uses Reap, a scythe slash that slows and silences enemies in the center. The Patch 26.22 notes cover only that ability, so check the in-game tooltips for the rest.

Is Dark Wind back in League Classic?

Yes. Dark Wind is the E on Classic Fiddlesticks, replacing the Reap slash from the live game. It deals damage on every bounce, with 45% AP scaling at every rank. Patch 26.22 retuned its base damage to 50 / 75 / 100 / 125 / 150, lowering ranks 1 to 3 and raising rank 5, so leveling it pays off more.

When did Fiddlesticks arrive in League Classic?

Fiddlesticks arrived in League Classic in Patch 26.22. The same patch notes also adjusted his Classic E, Dark Wind, cutting its damage per bounce at the lower ranks and raising it at rank 5. That patch is the earliest Classic entry for him, and no further Classic balance changes have been listed so far.

Is there a best build for Classic Fiddlesticks?

No. League Classic has no statistics of any kind, so no tested build, rune page or tier exists for Classic Fiddlesticks. The patch notes describe ability changes, not items. Build data on the regular Fiddlesticks pages reflects today’s live kit, which uses a different E, so it does not carry over to the Classic version.
