Eddie LoL: Career, Champions and Worlds 2026

Eddie is the Vietnamese bot laner behind Team Secret Whales’ sweep of the 2026 LCP splits. Here is how his stats, champion pool and builds explain it, and where he starts at Worlds 2026.

Eddie (Hoàng Công Nghĩa) is the Vietnamese bot laner of Team Secret Whales, the Asia Pacific organization that won the LCP in all three 2026 splits. In LoL esports he stands out for a wide marksman pool built around Ezreal, Yunara and Kai’Sa, a willingness to put a mage such as Ziggs in the bot lane, and a low death count for a carry who holds so much of his team’s gold. Born on 17 June 2003, he has played his entire top-flight career for one organization.

2026 season stats

2026 is the busiest and most successful year of Eddie’s career. He has already played more pro games than in all of 2025, and he wins far more often than the 54.9% he posted that year. A deep run through every LCP split, a trip to MSI 2026 and national team duty explain the volume; the jump in win rate is the real story.

The shape of his games has changed too. His CS/min and gold per minute are up, but his share of the team’s damage has dropped from the 29.8% he carried in 2025, and his kill participation is lower than last year’s 72%. Read together, those lines describe a carry who farms more and fights less: Team Secret Whales now has more threats around him, so Eddie no longer has to force every skirmish to win.

His deaths per game stay low in both seasons, and his KDA has improved slightly. For a bot laner who plays a lot of short-range hypercarries, staying alive through the mid game is a large part of why his team keeps converting leads.

Champion pool and pro win rates

Eddie’s 2026 pool is wider than in 2025, when he played 16 champions. Ezreal is his most played champion this year, but its win rate sits close to even: it is his safe blind pick, the champion he takes when the draft asks for poke and a short-cooldown dash rather than for raw damage.

The picks that actually win on a real sample are Yunara and Kai’Sa. Yunara has become his main hypercarry this year with a strong record across more than a dozen games, and Kai’Sa has an almost spotless record in 2026. Caitlyn, Varus and Jhin also hold winning records on meaningful samples, and his Jhin games stand out for how rarely he dies on the champion.

Below that core sit the pocket picks. Ziggs and Viktor show that Eddie and his team are happy to run a mage in the bot lane, Senna appears as a utility option, and Lucian and Xayah have only a handful of games each. Those samples are too small to call any of them strong, but they matter in draft: opponents cannot ban out a player who can switch between marksmen and mages.

Key takeawayWhat the pool says

Eddie’s pool splits into three clear groups.

  1. Ezreal is the comfort blind pick, not the champion that wins him the most games.
  2. Yunara and Kai’Sa are his best champions on a real sample this season.
  3. Mages such as Ziggs and Viktor are pocket answers that widen his team’s draft.

Across his career, Kai’Sa, Xayah, Ezreal, Varus and Jhin are his staples; Kai’Sa in particular has gone from a near coin flip over his career to his most reliable pick in 2026. Leaguepedia also lists Kog’Maw as a signature champion, though it does not appear among his most played pro picks.

Pro builds

Eddie’s builds point to a player who wants long, sustained fights rather than one-shot burst. Lethal Tempo is his keystone on all three of his top champions, paired with Precision and Inspiration, and he runs Barrier with Flash every time. That combination trades kill pressure in lane for survival and attack-speed scaling into the mid game.

On Ezreal, Muramana and Trinity Force form the core, followed by Serylda’s Grudge or Spear of Shojin. Taking Lethal Tempo with Presence of Mind and Legend: Haste on Ezreal tells you he wants to weave auto attacks between Q casts in extended fights, not just poke from range. Jack Of All Trades and Triple Tonic in the secondary tree add stats over the course of the game.

Yunara is built as a pure critical strike carry: Kraken Slayer and Infinity Edge first, then Fiendhunter Bolts, with Lord Dominik’s Regards or Runaan’s Hurricane depending on whether the enemy team stacks health or bunches up. Kai’Sa goes on-hit with Guinsoo’s Rageblade and Kraken Slayer, and the appearances of Nashor’s Tooth and Zhonya’s Hourglass show he is willing to tilt toward ability power when the game calls for it.

TipCopying these builds

Item and rune choices move with each patch, so check the latest patch notes before you lift a pro path into ranked. The habit worth copying is the logic: pick Barrier and a fight-length keystone when your team needs you alive in the late game, and adapt your last items to the enemy front line. Eddie’s LoL career at Team Secret Whales

Eddie joined Team Secret Whales on 17 January 2025 as its bot laner, and the career history lists no other organization. His first season there was solid rather than dominant: 82 games at a 54.9% win rate, with Eddie taking a large share of the team’s damage.

2026 is when it clicked. Team Secret Whales won every LCP split of the year, reached MSI 2026, and Eddie was also called up for Vietnam (National Team) in September. The career totals in the table show a winning record overall, and the bulk of those wins have come this year. Follow the rest of the region’s results on our esports hub.

Achievements

Eddie’s record in 2026 is as clean as a domestic season gets. Team Secret Whales won LCP 2026 Split 1 on 8 February 2026 and the Split 1 Playoffs on 1 March 2026, repeated the double with LCP 2026 Split 2 on 17 May 2026 and the Split 2 Playoffs on 7 June 2026, then took LCP 2026 Split 3 on 30 August 2026.

Five first places in one year make him one of the most decorated bot laners in the Asia Pacific league. What his résumé does not yet hold is a deep international run, which is why the autumn matters so much for how he is rated outside the region.
