LoL Patch 26.21 Notes: Winners, Losers and Picks

Jinx, Tristana and Gluttonous Greaves take nerfs while Orianna, Ryze and Azir get scaling help. Caitlyn’s power shifts from full build into lane.

Patch 26.21 targets the bot lane carries and meta junglers that have shaped solo queue for months. Jinx, Tristana and Gluttonous Greaves are nerfed, Lee Sin, Nidalee and Rammus lose jungle power, and Caitlyn is adjusted so her damage arrives in lane instead of at full build. Orianna, Ryze, Azir and Nunu & Willump get scaling buffs, and Hubris is nerfed for ranged users.

Every stat line sits on the cards below, with our pre-patch win and pick rates. For other patches, start from our LoL patch notes.

TL;DR

  • Marksmen cool off: Jinx and Tristana are nerfed, Gluttonous Greaves cost 1100g, and Hubris gives ranged champions less AD.
  • Caitlyn is adjusted: weaker full-build headshots, a stronger early Q.
  • Meta junglers come down: Lee Sin, Nidalee and Rammus are nerfed, and Wukong is adjusted toward lane.
  • Control mages scale harder: Orianna, Ryze and Azir are buffed, while Viktor is nerfed.
  • Quiet supports get help: Vel’Koz, Zyra and Dawncore are buffed, and Taric’s spells now fire on untargetable allies.
  • Replay downloads are capped at 10 per hour.

Biggest winners

The clearest winners are low-win-rate champions whose buffs land on their late-game power spike. The table below lists every patched champion’s pre-patch win and pick rates against an average of 50.1%.

MID.GG ranked data from the previous patch, before these changes.

Orianna is the biggest winner. Her Q and W AP ratios both rise, so the bread-and-butter ball combo hits harder in every mid and late teamfight without touching her lane. She enters the patch at 45.5%, 4.6 points under average and the lowest of any champion touched, so expect a real recovery rather than an instant meta pick.

Ryze gets paid for scaling again after the Patch 26.19 early nerfs. His W AP ratio rises to 70%, his top-rank Flux bonus climbs to 100%, and Q’s bonus move speed reaches 50% at rank 5. Rank 1 Flux drops slightly, so his early skirmishes stay muted, but full-build Ryze kites and bursts noticeably better.

Nunu & Willump gets back the damage he lost when Hextech Rocketbelt was nerfed. Absolute Zero’s maximum damage rises at every rank, up to 1450 at rank 3, so a full channel on a grouped team around Dragon or Baron Nashor now decides fights. Jungle Nunu players who start the ult from fog gain the most.

Miss Fortune is buffed to offset the Hubris nerf. Make It Rain now ranges from 90 to 210 base damage, and Bullet Time’s crit damage rises from 130% to 145% with better scaling from bonus crit damage. Crit builds come out clearly ahead; Hubris lethality builds roughly break even.

Biggest losers

Jinx takes the most meaningful nerf in bot lane. Her base health drops from 630 to 610 and her AD growth from 3.25 to 3 per level, which makes her easier to all-in before items and slows her pre-item damage. She enters at 51.4% with an 18.8% pick rate, so even a small cut will move her numbers.

Tristana loses her level 1 lane control. Rapid Fire’s attack speed at rank 1 drops from 60% to 40%, while rank 5 stays at 120%. She can no longer press Q and auto-attack her way to lane priority, so engage supports get a window they did not have before.

Lee Sin is nerfed twice: Safeguard’s cooldown rises from 7s to 8s and Dragon’s Rage loses base damage at every rank. The longer W cooldown slows the ward-hop and shield chains he uses in early duels and invades. He already sits at 46.6%, 3.5 points under average, so the players still learning him will feel it most.

Hubris on ranged champions is the item loser. Ranged users drop to 10 base bonus AD and 2 AD per stack, which cuts the snowball value that made it a staple on lethality marksmen.

Good to knowWhy low win rates still get nerfed

Lee Sin, Qiyana and Nidalee are all nerfed despite below-average win rates in our data: 46.6%, 46.7% and 47.1%. These nerfs answer popularity, pro presence and high-skill brackets, where mastery pushes their rates far higher than the all-ranks average shows.

Champion changes

Twenty-five champions change this patch, with the weight on bot lane, jungle and mid. Every card shows the full stat lines and the champion’s pre-patch rates.

Azir

Buffed
Before the patch
  • Win rate 46.5%
  • Pick rate 1.5%
Riot’s reasoning

Azir’s tight mana pool stopped him from using his abilities to contest lane once his W rank-up rewards became strong, so his mana growth goes up.

Base Stats

Mana Growth
40/Levelchanged to 50/Level
MID.GG analysis

Only mid Azir is affected, and the extra mana per level matters most from the first back through mid game, when he wants to spam soldiers to shove and fight for river. It does not change his build, but it lets him trade and clear without starving before his first item. Like Ryze, he starts well below the 50.1% average, so treat this as a step toward viable rather than a meta shift.

Darius

Buffed
Before the patch
  • Win rate 49.0%
  • Pick rate 9.7%
Riot’s reasoning

Darius had drifted toward one-shot combos instead of sustained fighting that needs to be kited, so his rank 5 Q comes back faster.

Q - DecimateQDecimate

Cooldown
9 / 8 / 7 / 6 / 5schanged to 9 / 8 / 7 / 6 / 4s
MID.GG analysis

The faster rank 5 Decimate means more heals and more damage in extended side lane fights once Q is maxed. Nothing changes before Q reaches rank 5, so his early matchups are untouched. Builds that stay in fights benefit most; it is a modest buff rather than a new build.

Before the patch
  • Win rate 50.6%
  • Pick rate 14.2%
Riot’s reasoning

Miss Fortune loses power from this patch’s Hubris nerf, so her E and R damage go up to compensate.

E - Make It RainEMake It Rain

Damage
70 / 100 / 130 / 160 / 190 (+120% AP)changed to 90 / 120 / 150 / 180 / 210 (+120% AP)

R - Bullet TimeRBullet Time

Critical Strike Damage
130% (+0.3% per 1% Bonus Crit Damage)changed to 145% (+0.45% per 1% Bonus Crit Damage)
MID.GG analysis

Higher Make It Rain damage and stronger Bullet Time crit scaling offset the Hubris change that cuts ranged users’ base AD and stack value. Crit builds come out ahead because her R scales harder with bonus crit damage. Bot laners already playing her get a stable or slightly stronger champion, while Hubris lethality builds roughly break even.

Before the patch
  • Win rate 48.6%
  • Pick rate 2.8%
Riot’s reasoning

Nunu & Willump lost damage when Hextech Rocketbelt was nerfed earlier in the year, so his R gets that damage back.

R - Absolute ZeroRAbsolute Zero

Maximum Damage
625 / 925 / 1275 (+300% AP)changed to 750 / 1100 / 1450 (+300% AP)
MID.GG analysis

Absolute Zero’s maximum damage rises at every rank, so a full channel on a grouped team now deletes far more health. Jungle Nunu players who set up the ult from fog or after a Snowball engage gain the most, especially around Dragon and Baron Nashor. A meaningful buff for a champion who started the patch below average.

Orianna

Buffed
Before the patch
  • Win rate 45.5%
  • Pick rate 2.7%
Riot’s reasoning

Orianna’s late-game combo needed more punch without strengthening her laning phase, so her Q and W AP ratios rise.

Q - Command: AttackQCommand: Attack

Damage
60 / 90 / 120 / 150 / 180 (+55% AP)changed to 60 / 90 / 120 / 150 / 180 (+60% AP)

W - Command: DissonanceWCommand: Dissonance

Damage
70 / 110 / 150 / 190 / 230 (+80% AP)changed to 70 / 110 / 150 / 190 / 230 (+85% AP)
MID.GG analysis

Higher AP ratios on Q and W boost her signature combo in mid and late teamfights without touching her early trades. Mid laners who scale into teamfights gain most, and pro play, where her control matters more, may feel it first. She enters with the lowest win rate of any champion touched this patch, so this is a real but partial fix.

Ryze

Buffed
Before the patch
  • Win rate 46.2%
  • Pick rate 1.8%
Riot’s reasoning

Ryze’s early nerfs in Patch 26.19 left him under-rewarded when he does scale, so his later-rank damage and speed go up.

Q - OverloadQOverload

Flux Bonus Damage
15% / 40% / 65% / 90% increased damagechanged to 10% / 40% / 70% / 100% increased damage

MID.GG analysis

Higher top-rank Flux damage, more Q move speed and a stronger W ratio make late-game Ryze faster and deadlier, while rank 1 Flux drops so his early skirmishes stay muted. Mid Ryze players should expect a modest recovery from a weak position. Organized play, where he reaches items more reliably, likely benefits first.

Taliyah

Buffed
Before the patch
  • Win rate 48.6%
  • Pick rate 1.7%
Riot’s reasoning

Taliyah is one of few mage junglers, so her E gains damage to support meta diversity and reward landing her combo.

E - Unraveled EarthEUnraveled Earth

Damage
60 / 105 / 150 / 195 / 240 (+60% AP)changed to 70 / 115 / 160 / 205 / 250 (+70% AP)
Detonation Damage
25 / 40 / 55 / 70 / 85 (+30% AP)changed to 30 / 45 / 60 / 75 / 90 (+30% AP)
Monster Damage
Deals 225% damage to monsters.
MID.GG analysis

Unraveled Earth now hits harder and deals bonus damage to monsters, which speeds her jungle clear as well as rewarding the stun combo. Jungle Taliyah gains most, though mid players get more lane damage too. A real buff to a niche pick that gives mage junglers a better option.

Vel'Koz

Buffed
Before the patch
  • Win rate 50.9%
  • Pick rate 5.5%
Riot’s reasoning

Vel’Koz has had little presence in mid or support, so his passive pays more for landing combos.

Passive - Organic DeconstructionPassiveOrganic Deconstruction

Damage
35–180 (+60% AP)changed to 35–205 (+65% AP)
MID.GG analysis

Organic Deconstruction deals more damage at higher levels and scales better with AP, so landing three spells on one target pays off more. Mid and support Vel’Koz both benefit, especially in poke compositions. A small buff that rewards accuracy without changing his role.

Zyra

Buffed
Before the patch
  • Win rate 50.7%
  • Pick rate 5.4%
Riot’s reasoning

Zyra has been crowded out by tanks and enchanter supports, so her seeds recharge faster at early ranks.

W - Rampant GrowthWRampant Growth

Seed Ammo Cooldown
18 / 16 / 14 / 12 / 10schanged to 16 / 14.5 / 13 / 11.5 / 10s
MID.GG analysis

Faster Rampant Growth recharge at early ranks means more plants available for lane trades and zone control. Support Zyra gains most, particularly in poke lanes against tank and enchanter supports. A small but real buff to a quiet pick.

Jinx

Nerfed
Before the patch
  • Win rate 51.4%
  • Pick rate 18.8%
Riot’s reasoning

Jinx stayed dominant even after the Hurricane nerf in the previous patch, so her base stats drop to slow her snowball.

Base Stats

Attack Damage
59 + 3.25/Levelchanged to 59 + 3/Level
Health
630 + 105/Levelchanged to 610 + 105/Level
MID.GG analysis

Lower base health makes Jinx easier to punish in early all-ins from engage supports, and slower AD growth delays her pre-item damage. Her item scaling is untouched, so the nerf mainly shrinks lanes she used to win by default. In high elo, expect duos to lane into her more aggressively; in low elo she stays a safe scaling pick.

Lee Sin

Nerfed
Before the patch
  • Win rate 46.6%
  • Pick rate 5.4%
Riot’s reasoning

Lee Sin’s W changes with allies gave him too much power and popularity, so W’s cooldown and R damage come down alongside a fix to his E reveal.

W - SafeguardWSafeguard

Cooldown
7schanged to 8s

E - TempestETempest

Bugfix

R - Dragon's RageRDragon’s Rage

Collision Damage
175 / 400 / 625 (+200% bonus AD) (+12 / 15 / 18% Kicked Champion’s Health)changed to 150 / 350 / 550 (+200% bonus AD) (+12 / 15 / 18% Kicked Champion’s Health)
MID.GG analysis

An 8s Safeguard cooldown slows his ward-hop and shield chains in early duels, and lower Dragon’s Rage base damage weakens his kick at every rank. The nerf targets popularity and high-elo strength rather than win rate, which is already well under average in our data. The E fix only stops Tempest revealing enemies who stealth after being hit.

Nidalee

Nerfed
Before the patch
  • Win rate 47.1%
  • Pick rate 1.8%
Riot’s reasoning

Nidalee has hovered near overpowered win rates in high-skill brackets, so her W and E get trimmed alongside other meta jungle nerfs.

W - PounceWPounce

Damage
55 / 88.75 / 122.5 / 156.25 / 190 (+50% bonus AD) (+30% AP)changed to 50 / 80 / 110 / 140 / 170 (+50% bonus AD) (+30% AP)

E - Primal SurgeEPrimal Surge

Attack Speed
30 / 40 / 50 / 60 / 70%changed to 20 / 30 / 40 / 50 / 60%
MID.GG analysis

Lower Pounce damage and Primal Surge attack speed slow her clear and trim her skirmish damage. The nerf aims at high-skill brackets, where she wins far more than our all-ranks data shows; across every rank she is below average and rarely picked. One-tricks will feel slower clears, while most players will barely notice.

Qiyana

Nerfed
Before the patch
  • Win rate 46.7%
  • Pick rate 7.0%
Riot’s reasoning

Qiyana’s Q damage buff from Patch 26.17 proved more impactful than expected, so it is partly reverted.

Q - Elemental Wrath / Edge of IxtalQElemental Wrath / Edge of Ixtal

Damage
80 / 110 / 140 / 170 / 200 (+90% bonus AD)changed to 70 / 100 / 130 / 160 / 190 (+90% bonus AD)
MID.GG analysis

Lower Q base damage trims her early trades and clears in mid and jungle, where Q is her main damage before items. Her late-game burst changes little because the bonus AD ratio stays the same. With her all-ranks win rate already well below average, this reads as a correction for skilled players rather than a solo queue problem.

Rammus

Nerfed
Before the patch
  • Win rate 52.9%
  • Pick rate 3.4%
Riot’s reasoning

Rammus has been beating most of the player base outside the highest brackets, so his W resistances scale less.

W - Defensive Ball CurlWDefensive Ball Curl

Bonus Armor
27 / 32 / 37 / 42 / 47 (+30–60% Armor)changed to 25 / 30 / 35 / 40 / 45 (+30–50% Armor)
Bonus Magic Resistance
20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40 (+30–60% Magic Resistance)changed to 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40 (+30–50% Magic Resistance)
MID.GG analysis

Defensive Ball Curl now scales to a lower share of his armor and magic resist, so late-game Rammus is a little easier to kill for both AD and AP threats. His early clear and ganks are untouched. He enters with the highest win rate of any patched champion, so expect him to stay a strong jungle pick after this light nerf.

Tristana

Nerfed
Before the patch
  • Win rate 50.8%
  • Pick rate 13.4%
Riot’s reasoning

Tristana’s lane had become pressing Q at level 1 and auto-attacking to win, so her early Q attack speed drops.

Q - Rapid FireQRapid Fire

Attack Speed
60 / 75 / 90 / 105 / 120%changed to 40 / 60 / 80 / 100 / 120%
MID.GG analysis

Lower Rapid Fire attack speed at early ranks takes away her level 1 dominance, while rank 5 is unchanged. She can no longer win lanes just by pressing Q first, so engage supports get an opening early. Her late-game value and all-in threat after items stay the same.

Viktor

Nerfed
Before the patch
  • Win rate 51.3%
  • Pick rate 8.1%
Riot’s reasoning

Viktor has outgrown his exploitable weaknesses, so he loses a little speed and early shield to be more vulnerable in skirmishes.

Base Stats

Move Speed
335changed to 330

Q - Siphon PowerQSiphon Power

Shield
40–140 (based on level) (+25% AP)changed to 30–130 (+20% AP)
MID.GG analysis

Slightly lower move speed and a smaller Siphon Power shield make Viktor easier to catch with early ganks and skirmishes in mid. It is a small nerf across the board rather than a hit to his scaling. He stays a strong scaling mage, but you need to respect early jungle pressure more.

Yone

Nerfed
Before the patch
  • Win rate 51.3%
  • Pick rate 19.9%
Riot’s reasoning

Yone’s last changes pushed him toward early crit items but also to an unsustainable power level, so his Q ratio drops.

Q - Mortal SteelQMortal Steel

Damage
25 / 50 / 75 / 100 / 125 (+110% AD)changed to 25 / 50 / 75 / 100 / 125 (+105% AD)
MID.GG analysis

A lower Mortal Steel AD ratio trims his damage in mid and top alike, and since Q is his main lane tool, early trades and wave clear feel weaker. His build does not change. As the most-picked champion in the table, even this moderate nerf should show up quickly in his numbers.

Caitlyn

Adjusted
Before the patch
  • Win rate 49.6%
  • Pick rate 19.4%
Riot’s reasoning

Caitlyn has held a very high pick and ban rate for months and scales too hard late, so power moves from full-build headshots into early Q damage.

Passive - HeadshotPassiveHeadshot

Damage
60–100% AD (+1% AD per 1% per Crit Chance) (+1% AD per 1% Bonus Crit Damage)changed to 60–80% AD (+0.8% AD per 1% per Crit Chance) (+0.8% AD per 1% Bonus Crit Damage)

Q - Piltover PeacemakerQPiltover Peacemaker

Base Damage
50 / 90 / 130 / 170 / 210changed to 50 / 95 / 140 / 185 / 230
MID.GG analysis

The adjustment turns Caitlyn further toward a lane bully: her Q hits harder past rank 1, while full-build crit headshots lose a chunk of damage. Bot laners who play her for siege and plating gain; long scaling games get worse for her. Her pick rate sits above Jinx’s while her win rate trails it, so this answers presence more than raw strength.

Locke

Adjusted
Before the patch
  • Win rate 48.2%
  • Pick rate 7.0%
Riot’s reasoning

Locke’s mana tuning and resistance to harass are too generous while he falls off too fast late, so his sustain drops and his scaling damage rises.

MID.GG analysis

Locke loses lane sustain: lower mana growth, a pricier W and a smaller grey health store mean harass sticks to him. In return, W’s current-health store now scales with AP and E’s blink damage rises, so AP builds that reach late game get more out of him. These are mixed changes: a weaker lane and a stronger late game.

Sion

Adjusted

Riot’s reasoning

Sion has looked too easy to stop, so he gains health per level and more reward for ulting into fights.

MID.GG analysis

Higher health growth makes Sion tankier across the whole game, and R’s damage ramp now rewards charging into a team rather than using it to escape. The tooltip fix changes nothing in game. These adjusted values clearly help top lane tank Sion; the R change pays off only when you commit the full charge.

Taric

Adjusted
Before the patch
  • Win rate 52.1%
  • Pick rate 1.7%
Riot’s reasoning

Taric’s spells fizzled on untargetable allies as an old answer to Master Yi funnels, and Role Quests make that limit unnecessary, so his spells now fire.

R - Cosmic RadianceRCosmic Radiance

MID.GG analysis

Q, E and R now work when his bound ally turns untargetable, so combos with dashes and untargetable spells stop fizzling. Dazzle still will not cast from Vanished allies. This is a quality-of-life adjustment for support Taric and his lane partner, not a power shift.

Twisted Fate

Adjusted
Before the patch
  • Win rate 49.1%
  • Pick rate 3.3%
Riot’s reasoning

Twisted Fate’s R gets the same treatment as Taric’s spells, so it can reveal champions who are untargetable when it activates.

R - DestinyRDestiny

Reveal

MID.GG analysis

Destiny now reveals untargetable units, so enemies using untargetable abilities when you press R no longer slip through the reveal. It matters only in edge cases for mid TF’s map play. A quality-of-life adjustment with no real power change.

Varus

Adjusted
Before the patch

MID.GG analysis

Blighted Quiver’s on-hit and percent-health damage drop, while Piercing Arrow scales from minimum damage toward a higher full-channel value. Top lane W-max Varus loses most; bot lane Q-max poke Varus gains on fully charged arrows. These are mixed changes that act as a role correction, keeping him in bot lane.

Wukong

Adjusted
Before the patch
  • Win rate 51.9%
  • Pick rate 8.9%
Riot’s reasoning

Wukong has been a jungle staple, so his early passive armor drops while base health regen rises to support lane Wukong.

MID.GG analysis

Lower early armor per Stone Skin stack weakens jungle Wukong’s early clears and duels, while higher base regen helps top lane Wukong sustain through trades. These mixed changes move him from jungle toward top. Among the meta junglers touched this patch, his win rate trails only Rammus’s, so expect him to stay viable.

Xin Zhao

Adjusted

Attack Speed Scaling
1% per 5% bonus Attack Speed from permanent sourceschanged to 1% per 4% bonus Attack Speed from permanent sources
MID.GG analysis

Three Talon Strike gains a higher bonus AD ratio and Audacious Charge converts bonus attack speed more efficiently, helping both bruiser and attack speed builds. Jungle Xin Zhao benefits most. The adjusted values tilt him stronger overall, but the effect is modest.

Bot lane: Caitlyn, Varus and the marksman reset

Caitlyn’s adjustment moves power from full-build headshots, which now cap at 80% AD, into a Piltover Peacemaker that reaches 230 base damage. She wants to win lane, take plating and end before full build; long scaling games are now less favorable. Her pick rate sits above Jinx’s while her win rate trails it, which is why this is a presence correction rather than a strength one.

Varus is adjusted to push him out of top lane. Blighted Quiver’s on-hit and percent-health damage drop, while Piercing Arrow now scales from minimum damage toward a fully charged shot of up to 391 base damage. Bot lane Q-max Varus gains on fully charged arrows; top lane W-max builds lose their passive damage.

Jungle: Lee Sin, Nidalee, Rammus and Wukong come down

Nidalee loses Pounce damage and Primal Surge attack speed, which slows her clear and trims her skirmish damage. Rammus’s Defensive Ball Curl now scales up to 50% of his armor and magic resist instead of 60%, so late-game Rammus is easier to kill, but his early clear and ganks are untouched. Wukong is adjusted: jungle Wukong loses early passive armor, while lane Wukong gains base health regeneration.

Taliyah and Xin Zhao pick up the slack. Unraveled Earth now deals 225% damage to monsters on top of its damage buff, which speeds her clear and rewards the stun combo. Xin Zhao’s adjusted scalings help both bruiser and attack speed builds after the Sundered Sky nerfs.

Mid lane: mages up, Viktor, Yone and Qiyana down

Azir’s mana growth rises from 40 to 50 per level, so he can spam soldiers to contest lane before his first item. Viktor is nerfed with move speed down from 335 to 330 and a smaller Siphon Power shield, which makes early ganks on him more reliable. Yone’s Q ratio drops from 110% to 105% AD, and Qiyana loses part of her Patch 26.17 Q buff.

Locke is adjusted: less mana growth, a pricier W and a smaller grey health store weaken his lane sustain, while AP scaling on W and more E blink damage lift his late game. Twisted Fate’s Destiny now reveals untargetable units, a quality-of-life adjustment with little power attached.

Top lane and support

Darius’s rank 5 Decimate cooldown drops from 5s to 4s, rewarding sustained fights over one-shot combos. Sion is adjusted with health growth up from 87 to 95 per level and an R damage ramp that rewards channeling into a team rather than away from it.

In support, Zyra’s seeds recharge faster at early ranks, Vel’Koz’s passive now reaches 205 base damage with a higher AP ratio, and Taric’s Q, E and R now fire when his bound ally turns untargetable. Dazzle still will not cast from Vanished allies, so Master Yi funnels stay limited.

Item changes

Three of the four item changes are nerfs aimed at marksmen and generic stat sticks. Dawncore is the only buff.

Bastion Breaker

Nerfed
Riot’s reasoning

Bastion Breaker became a generic stat stick after its buffs, so its stats drop while its objective bonus no longer expires.

Sabotage Duration

Sabotage Duration Context
This is how long you have to use the bonus damage against objectives.
MID.GG analysis

Lower Lethality and Shaped Charge damage end its run as a generic damage item, while an infinite Sabotage duration makes its objective damage easier to cash in. Split-pushing fighters and assassins who buy it for turrets still get value. Everyone else should build a different damage item.

Dawncore

Dawncore

Buffed
Riot’s reasoning

Dawncore was only bought by Soraka, so its AP from mana regen rises to make it less tied to healing and shielding.

Ability Power per 100% Base Mana Regeneration
10changed to 15
MID.GG analysis

More AP per 100% base mana regeneration makes Dawncore a real damage option for enchanters who stack mana regen. It could move the item beyond Soraka builds in long games. Expect slow adoption, mainly at full build in high elo.

Gluttonous Greaves

Nerfed
Riot’s reasoning

Gluttonous Greaves overperform on marksmen even with few stacks, so the cost rises to delay early purchases.

Total Cost
1000gchanged to 1100g
MID.GG analysis

The jump from 1000g to 1100g pushes back the early boot purchase that gave marksmen value before stacking. Bot laners need to replan first-back timings. The item’s late-game value is unchanged.

Hubris

Hubris

Nerfed
Riot’s reasoning

Hubris is weak on melee champions but overperforms on ranged ones, so its values now differ by range.

Base Bonus Attack Damage
12changed to 15 Melee / 10 Ranged
Bonus Attack Damage per Stack
3changed to 3 Melee / 2 Ranged
MID.GG analysis

Ranged champions get less base AD and less AD per stack, while melee champions gain base AD and keep full stack value. Lethality marksmen such as Miss Fortune lose the most, which is why she is buffed alongside. Melee assassins and fighters now have a stronger reason to buy it.

Hubris now splits by range. Melee champions get 15 base bonus AD and keep 3 per stack, while ranged champions drop to 10 base and 2 per stack. Lethality marksmen lose value, and melee assassins and fighters get a better reason to buy it.

Gluttonous Greaves rise from 1000g to 1100g, which delays the early purchase that gave marksmen value even with few stacks. Bastion Breaker drops from 22 to 18 Lethality and loses Shaped Charge damage, but its Sabotage bonus against objectives no longer expires, so it returns to being a split-push and turret item.

Dawncore’s AP per 100% base mana regeneration rises from 10 to 15. That makes it a damage option for mana-regen enchanters beyond Soraka, instead of a pure healing and shielding item.

Watch outRecheck your first back on marksmen

Gluttonous Greaves now cost more, so an early back that used to complete them may fall short. Plan your recall timing around the new price instead of walking back to lane with a half-finished purchase.

System changes

No balance systems change, but three notes affect how you use the client.

Replay downloads are capped at 10 per hour during Patch 26.21. You can still download your own replays and those of friends and other players; the cap exists to stop automated tools from scraping replays in bulk. If you review VODs in batches, spread your downloads across the session.

The Mythic Shop’s Bi-weekly, Weekly and Daily rotations are being realigned ahead of Patch 26.22, when each player starts seeing personal offers. Watch the rotation timers if you are saving Mythic Essence. The patch launcher also now needs a CPU that supports SSE 4.2, which raises the AMD minimum spec by one version.

Mode changes are covered on the Arena Patch 26.21 page and the ARAM: Mayhem Patch 26.21 page.

What to play this patch

Play champions whose buffs land on their main power spike, and pick against marksmen that lost early power. Check our champion pages for builds and our guides for matchup and wave advice.

Top

  • Darius (top): a 4s rank 5 Q means more heals and more uptime in extended side lane fights.
  • Sion (top): more health per level and a stronger committed R make him a reliable frontline.
  • Wukong (top): extra base health regen lets him trade and stay in lane longer.

Jungle

  • Nunu & Willump (jungle): a harder-hitting full-channel Absolute Zero wins grouped objective fights.
  • Taliyah (jungle): bonus monster damage on E speeds her clear and rewards landing the stun.
  • Rammus (jungle): he enters at 52.9%, the highest of any patched champion, and the nerf only touches late-game resistances.

Mid

  • Orianna (mid): higher Q and W ratios reward patient scaling into teamfights.
  • Azir (mid): more mana per level lets him contest lane with soldiers before his first item.
  • Ryze (mid): faster Q move speed and a stronger W pay off once he reaches his items.

Bot

  • Miss Fortune (bot): E and R buffs more than cover the Hubris change on crit builds.
  • Caitlyn (bot): her Q now hits harder in lane, so play for plating and an early lead.
  • Varus (bot): Q-max Varus gains on fully charged arrows as power moves out of W.

Support

  • Zyra (support): faster early seed recharge means more plants in every lane trade.
  • Vel’Koz (support): his passive now pays more for landing full combos in poke lanes.
  • Taric (support): Q, E and R no longer fizzle when your ally dashes or turns untargetable.
TipPunish the nerfed marksmen early

Jinx has less base health and Tristana’s level 1 Q is weaker. Pair an engage support with an early-pressure marksman and take trades before either reaches their items; the window closes once they scale.

  1. Building Hubris on marksmen out of habit

    Why it happens
It was a standard ranged lethality buy for months.
    The fix
On ranged champions, compare it against your other options; on melee assassins and fighters, it is now a stronger purchase.
  2. Taking level 1 all-ins on Tristana as before

    Why it happens
Muscle memory from patches where Q won every early trade.
    The fix
Farm safely and trade around cooldowns until Q has more ranks and your first item lands.
  3. Maxing W on top lane Varus

    Why it happens
W max was the strongest top lane build before this patch.
    The fix
Play Varus bot with a Q max, or pick a different top laner.

Frequently asked questions

When were the Patch 26.21 notes released?

The League of Legends Patch 26.21 notes were published on 20 October 2026. The True Damage Know My Name skins for Ekko, Akali, Qiyana, Senna and Yasuo, including a Prestige Ekko, become available on 21 October 2026. A personalized Mythic Shop is planned for Patch 26.22.

What changed for Caitlyn in Patch 26.21?

Caitlyn is adjusted: power moves from her late game into her lane. Her full-build headshot damage now caps at 80% AD instead of 100%, with smaller crit scalings. Her Q base damage rises, reaching 230 at rank 5. She is stronger while laning and weaker in long, full-build teamfights.

Who are the best champions to play in Patch 26.21?

Strong picks include Miss Fortune bot after her E and R buffs, Nunu & Willump jungle with a harder-hitting Absolute Zero, Orianna mid with higher AP ratios, and Darius top with a faster rank 5 Q. Rammus stays strong after a light nerf. Jinx, Tristana and Lee Sin lose early power.

What changed with Hubris in Patch 26.21?

Hubris now splits its values by range and is nerfed for ranged users. Melee champions get 15 base bonus AD, up from 12, and keep 3 AD per stack. Ranged champions drop to 10 base bonus AD and 2 per stack, so marksmen lose value while melee assassins and fighters gain it.

Why are replay downloads limited in Patch 26.21?

Replay downloads are capped at 10 per hour during Patch 26.21 to stop automated apps from scraping huge numbers of replays. You can still download your own replays and those of friends and other players. The time-based cap leaves room for content creators and VOD review while blocking mass downloading.
