Hans Sama LoL: Career, Champions and Worlds 2026

Hans Sama is G2 Esports’ French bot laner and a perennial LEC champion. Here is his 2026 form, champion pool, builds, career and his place at Worlds 2026.

Hans Sama (Steven Liv) is a French LoL bot laner who plays for G2 Esports in the LEC, and he is one of the most decorated marksmen Europe has produced. He joined G2 on 21 January 2023 after spells with Misfits Gaming and Team Liquid, and he has won LEC titles with the organization every year since. His reputation was built on aggressive lane champions such as Draven, Kalista and Lucian, while his 2026 season has leaned on Yunara, Ashe and Ezreal.

2026 season stats

His 2026 season is busier and more successful than 2025. Last year he played 113 games at a 59.3% win rate; this year G2 has played more series and he has won a larger share of them, a run that delivered the LEC Versus, Spring and Summer Playoffs titles plus deep international runs at First Stand and MSI.

The shape of his numbers has shifted too. He dies more often per game than he did in 2025, which pulls his KDA below the 5.06 he posted last season, but his CS, gold and damage per minute have all climbed. He also carries a slightly larger share of G2’s damage than a year ago.

The one figure moving the other way is kill participation, which is lower than in 2025. Read together with the higher farm and damage, that points to a carry who spends more time collecting side waves and scaling into fights than chasing every early skirmish. For a bot laner on a team that funnels resources into the carry position, that is usually a deliberate trade: more risk, more gold and more damage per fight.

Hans Sama champions and pro win rates

Yunara is his most played champion of 2026 and the pick G2 has returned to in almost every recent series. Her win rate holds up on a real sample, and her damage output is among the highest in his pool, which makes her the clearest expression of how he wants to play this year: scale, then shred the front line in long teamfights.

Ashe is the standout on results. She has the best record among his high-volume picks this year, and she brings what Yunara does not: long-range engage with her R, slows for kiting and utility that helps the whole team. Sivir is the other champion worth flagging, since he has not lost a game on her this season across a sample large enough to take seriously; she fits teamfight drafts that want wave clear and a team-wide speed boost.

Ezreal, Varus, Corki and Lucian form the solid middle of the pool, each played often enough to be a real option but with less dominant results. Lucian is the notable one there, a signature champion from earlier in his career who has been closer to a coin flip in 2026. Kai’Sa has a good record in a small sample but has not been picked since May.

The edges of the pool show how flexible G2’s drafts are. Mage-style bot picks such as Ziggs and Corki sit alongside Senna, Smolder, Syndra and Miss Fortune, though most of those pocket picks have too few games to judge. Overall he has played a wider pool than in 2025, which gives G2 more room to adapt picks and bans in a best-of-five.

Pro builds

His builds on Yunara are a pure damage-per-second setup. Kraken Slayer comes first, followed by Fiendhunter Bolts and Infinity Edge, with Lord Dominik’s Regards added when the enemy front line gets tanky. He pairs Lethal Tempo with Presence of Mind, Legend: Bloodline and Cut Down, and takes Cash Back and Cosmic Insight from Inspiration rather than a more aggressive secondary tree.

On Ashe, Phantom Dancer is the constant, then Infinity Edge and Kraken Slayer, with Hexoptics C44 and Stormrazor as range and burst options and Mortal Reminder when he needs anti-heal. The rune page mirrors Yunara except for Approach Velocity, a natural fit for a champion whose attacks slow targets.

Ezreal is the outlier in itemization but not in intent. Muramana and Trinity Force are his core, followed by Endless Hunger or Spear of Shojin, and he still runs Lethal Tempo, here with Legend: Haste and Triple Tonic for more spell rotations.

The common thread is Lethal Tempo with Barrier and Flash on all three champions. He builds for extended fights where sustained auto attacks win, not for a single burst trade, and he takes the defensive Summoner spell to survive long enough to deliver that damage. If you want to copy his Yunara or Ashe setups, check the latest patch notes first, since item tuning shifts these orders, and pair them with the bot lane fundamentals in our guides.

Hans Sama LoL career: Misfits, Team Liquid and G2

His listed career starts at Misfits Gaming, where he played bot lane from 19 January 2017 to 17 August 2019. Those years established him as a mechanically aggressive marksman, which is where his association with Draven, Kalista and Lucian comes from.

His next listed team is Team Liquid in North America, from 14 January 2022 to 11 September 2022. The stint was short but productive: Liquid won the LCS 2022 Lock In on 30 January 2022 and the LCS 2022 Spring split on 27 March 2022 with him in the bot lane.

He returned to Europe with G2 Esports on 21 January 2023, and that move defines his career. His first title with the organization came at the LEC 2023 Winter Playoffs on 26 February 2023, and G2 has stayed at the top of the league ever since. Over the same period his champion pool has moved from lane bullies toward scaling carries such as Varus, Ashe and Yunara, which matches the longer, teamfight-driven games G2 tends to play.

Achievements

Domestic dominance is the headline. In 2024 G2 won every LEC title on offer with him in the lineup, from LEC 2024 Winter on 29 January 2024 through the LEC 2024 Season Finals on 1 September 2024. In 2026 they repeated the pattern with the Versus, Spring and Summer Playoffs titles, the last of them on 20 September 2026.

Internationally, the results are close but not yet a trophy. His best listed finish is 2nd at First Stand 2026 on 22 March 2026, followed by 4th at MSI 2026 and 4th at the Esports World Cup 2025. That combination places him firmly among the best bot laners in the West, with an international title the missing line on his record.
