G2 Esports Roster, History and Worlds 2026

G2 Esports enter Worlds 2026 as EMEA’s first seed after winning the LEC 2026 Summer Playoffs. Here is the roster, the season in context, how they draft and the titles that define the organization.

The G2 Esports roster for 2026 is BrokenBlade, SkewMond, Caps, Hans Sama and Labrov. The lineup won the LEC 2026 Summer Playoffs on 20 September 2026 and heads to Worlds 2026 as EMEA’s first seed. G2 is the most decorated organization in European League of Legends, and this season added another set of domestic trophies to a record that stretches back to the EU LCS.

The five-man lineup is built around a veteran core with a carry-capable bot lane. BrokenBlade holds top lane, SkewMond plays jungle, Caps is in mid, Hans Sama plays bot and Labrov supports. The same five started every split of the season, which shows in how cleanly the team executes coordinated plays.

The coaching staff is Rodrigo, Memento and Perkz. They run the draft and preparation; none of them is part of the playing lineup.

2026 season record and player stats

G2’s 2026 is a season of steady control rather than flawless dominance. They win far more series than they lose and convert roughly two of every three games, but the losses are real and they cluster in regular-season best-of-threes rather than in the playoffs. The trophies came from peaking at the right time.

The sharpest split in the numbers is side selection. G2 is a much stronger team on blue side, where they win the large majority of their games, while red side sits close to a coin flip. They also choose blue far more often, which tells you how much the staff values first pick. Their games run to an ordinary length: they do not rely on fast stomps or on dragging matches into late-game coinflips.

The carry load sits in the middle of the map and the bot lane. SkewMond posts the cleanest line on the roster, combining low deaths with heavy kill participation, and Caps and Hans Sama share the damage-dealing duties with near-identical efficiency. Labrov carries the highest death count, which is the normal price of a support who starts fights, and BrokenBlade’s quieter line fits a top laner who often plays a stable front-line pick so the resources flow elsewhere.

Draft priorities

G2 drafts for early skirmishes through the jungle and safe, scaling picks around it. Xin Zhao and Jarvan IV are SkewMond’s main tools, both champions that dive early and set up plays for lanes with priority. K’Sante in top fits the same logic: a durable pick that holds a lane without needing jungle attention.

In the bot lane the team leans on Lulu with Yunara, Ashe or Ezreal, a pairing that protects the carry rather than forcing level-2 all-ins. Ashe has been one of their most reliable picks, which suits a team that likes to engage from range. Pantheon appears as a flexible early-game pick, and Ahri and Orianna split Caps’ mid pool.

Orianna stands out across both tables. She heads the most-banned list and, when G2 does get her, she is the best-performing champion in their pool, so opponents rarely leave her open. Rumble, Varus, Nocturne and Jayce are the other names that disappear most often in G2 drafts. To see how these champions play in solo queue, browse the champion pages.

Recent form

G2 finished the season in its best form of the year. The late weeks of the LEC 2026 Summer regular season were uneven, with series losses to Karmine Corp, Fnatic and GIANTX, but the playoffs were a different story. G2 beat Team Vitality, Karmine Corp and Movistar KOI in consecutive best-of-fives, dropping only one game across the bracket and closing the final without a reply.

The pattern matches the side data: in prepared best-of-fives, where the staff controls side choice and the draft plan, G2 looks like a different team from the one that drops best-of-threes in the regular season. Every game of the playoff run is linked below if you want to study the drafts.

History and titles

G2 arrived in the EU LCS in 2016 and won both splits and both playoffs that year, then repeated the domestic sweep in 2017. That era also produced their first international finals: 2nd at MSI 2017 and at IEM Season 11 World Championship. A semifinal at Worlds 2018 showed the team could compete with the best regions.

2019 is the peak. G2 won every LEC title on offer, took MSI 2019 and reached the Worlds 2019 final, finishing 2nd. It remains the high point for a European team in the modern era. The organization followed it with a Worlds 2020 semifinal and two more LEC playoff titles in 2020.

After a quieter 2021, G2 rebuilt into a domestic machine. From 2022 they collected LEC titles nearly every split, including the LEC 2023 and LEC 2024 Season Finals, and became a regular top-four team internationally with semifinal runs at MSI 2022, MSI 2024 and the Esports World Cup. The 2025 Summer titles carried that run into 2026.

This season extended the pattern. G2 won the LEC 2026 Versus, Spring and Summer playoffs, finished 2nd at First Stand 2026 and 4th at MSI 2026. The missing piece remains the same as in every recent year: a deep run at Worlds.
