Hope LoL: Career, Champions and Worlds 2026

Hope is the bot laner for Anyone’s Legend and has won LPL titles with EDward Gaming, JD Gaming and Anyone’s Legend. This page covers his 2026 stats, his Varus-led champion pool, his builds and where he starts at Worlds 2026.

Hope (Wang Jie, 王杰) is a Chinese bot laner who plays for Anyone’s Legend in the LPL. In LoL esports he is best known for two things. He has won the LPL with EDward Gaming, JD Gaming and Anyone’s Legend, and his Varus has been his most played and most reliable champion for years. He was born on 29 September 2000 and has played bot lane for every team on his record.

2026 season stats

Hope’s 2026 has been a big year for results and a quieter one in the stat line. His 2025 season set a high bar: 183 games at a 63.9% win rate with a 6.17 KDA. This year he is winning a smaller share of his games and dying slightly more often, so his KDA sits below that mark. He has still added two more LPL trophies.

His economy numbers moved the other way. He is farming more per minute and earning more gold than in 2025, and his share of the team’s damage is unchanged. His kill participation and assist count have dropped. That points to a resource-heavy carry who scales on farm and joins fights later, not the bot laner who was in almost every fight last year. He is also placing more vision per minute, a small but real change in how he spends his time on the map.

Champion pool and pro win rates

Varus is the center of Hope’s 2026 pool. It is his most played champion this season and has his best record of any champion with a real sample, so it is the first pick to watch for in his drafts. Ezreal and Corki are his other high-volume champions, both with winning records. They reward the same strengths as Varus: long-range damage, a safe lane and a strong late game.

Below those three, his champions fall into utility picks and pocket picks. Ashe and Lucian have been break-even, which marks them as composition picks rather than champions he wins games on by himself. Yunara has a losing record over a handful of games and is the clearest weak spot. Ziggs, a mage taken into the bot lane, has worked: he has won most of his games on it, with one of the higher damage outputs in his pool.

Jinx and Viktor have been played only twice each, so their unbeaten records say nothing yet. Viktor is a true pocket pick, the kind of mage a team locks in to keep its role assignments hidden in draft. Overall he has played a slightly wider pool than in 2025.

Key takeawayWhat to expect from Hope in draft

His 2026 pool has three layers:

  1. Varus is his first-choice champion and the one he wins with most consistently.
  2. Ezreal and Corki are the main alternatives when Varus is banned or taken.
  3. Mages such as Ziggs and Viktor are flex options, and Ziggs has the larger sample behind it.

Over his whole career, his signature champions are Varus, Kai’Sa, Ezreal, Lucian and Aphelios, with Varus at the top by games played. Kai’Sa and Aphelios, both staples of earlier seasons, have barely featured in 2026. The career table also shows how dependable Sivir and Jinx have been over large samples. Xayah is the one long-standing pick with a clearly losing record.

Pro builds

Hope plays lethality Varus. Muramana and Youmuu’s Ghostblade are the core, followed by Edge of Night and Serylda’s Grudge. In some games he adds Serpent’s Fang to answer shield-heavy enemy lineups. His runes match the build: Arcane Comet from Sorcery with Inspiration secondary, which turns every poke ability into chip damage before a fight starts.

He takes Flash and Teleport on Varus instead of a defensive Summoner spell like Barrier. That trades lane safety for map pressure. Teleport lets him join a fight elsewhere or get back to lane quickly after a recall. It also shows he expects to win from range, not in an all-in.

Ezreal and Corki start the same way, with Muramana into Trinity Force, and both run Barrier and Flash. On Ezreal he adds Spear of Shojin and takes Lethal Tempo, a setup for extended trades that mix auto-attacks and spells rather than one-shot burst. On Corki he runs Conqueror and picks either The Collector or Infinity Edge as his next item, turning the champion into more of a crit carry once his mana item is complete.

Muramana comes first on all three champions. Hope wants a lane where he can use his abilities freely and a mid game where his damage comes as much from spells as from auto-attacks. Item values shift from patch to patch, so check the patch notes before you copy any of these builds into ranked.

Hope’s LoL career so far

Hope’s career started at EDward Gaming, where he played from 15 January 2018 to 27 December 2020 and won LPL 2018 Spring. His next listed team is JD Gaming, which he joined on 10 January 2022. That year was the high point of his early career, with the LPL 2022 Summer Playoffs title and a 3rd–4th finish at Worlds 2022.

A season at Team WE followed, from 14 December 2022 to 5 August 2023. He then joined Anyone’s Legend on 25 December 2023, the move that has defined the rest of his career. The organization won the Demacia Cup 2024 a year later, then LPL 2025 Split 1. He has been its bot laner since then, apart from short stints under the AG.AL tag around the Esports World Cup in July 2025 and July 2026.

Few bot laners have stayed at the top for this long. He has won domestic titles nearly a decade apart, on teams with very different rosters, and the career table shows a winning record across hundreds of pro games.

That run makes Anyone’s Legend the benchmark team in China this year.

Internationally, his best results are 3rd–4th at Worlds 2022 with JD Gaming, 3rd at MSI 2025 and 2nd at the Esports World Cup 2025. He has reached the late stages of the biggest events without winning one. That is the one gap left on his record heading into Worlds 2026.
