Smash LoL: Career, Champions and Worlds 2026

Smash is Dplus Kia’s bot laner and an Esports World Cup 2026 champion. Here are his 2026 stats, his Lucian-led champion pool, his pro builds and his road into Worlds 2026.

Smash, real name Shin Geum-jae, is a South Korean League of Legends (LoL) pro who plays bot for Dplus Kia in the LCK. He joined the organization on 6 December 2025 after a spell at T1. By July 2026 he had won the Esports World Cup 2026 with his new team. He is known for a deep marksman pool anchored by Lucian and Kai’Sa, and he is willing to take mages such as Ziggs into the bot lane when the draft calls for it.

Born on 20 July 2006, he heads into Worlds 2026 as the carry of a Dplus Kia lineup that qualified from Korea. The prose explains what those numbers say about how he plays.

2026 season stats

Smash’s 2026 season is busier but less dominant than his 2025. He has already played more games than last year’s total. His win rate sits clearly below the 64.6% he posted across 2025, and his KDA has fallen from the 5.43 he finished that season with.

The shape of his games has shifted too. He is farming harder, with higher CS/min and gold/min than in 2025. He turns that gold into less damage/min, a slightly smaller share of his team’s damage and lower kill participation. He also averages fewer kills and assists per game while dying about as often as before.

Taken together, the numbers describe a bot laner who still gets his resources but lands the finishing blow in won fights less often. Part of that is context. Last season’s numbers came from games that were won far more often, and winning inflates kills, assists and KDA. Part of it is champion choice: some of his most drafted picks this year have not paid off, as the next section shows.

Champion pool and pro win rates

Lucian is the champion that defines Smash’s 2026. He shares the top of the season pool with Yunara and Ezreal. Of those three, only Lucian has a clearly winning record on a real sample, and it also has the highest damage/min among the picks he plays regularly. When Dplus Kia wants a lane that bullies and then snowballs, Lucian is the answer.

Picks that are working

Sivir is the quiet standout. On a meaningful sample she carries a better record than anything else he plays regularly, and his KDA on her is the best in the season pool once you set aside picks with only a handful of games. She fits a team that wants to scale and then engage together, and her kill participation shows he arrives for those fights.

Caitlyn and Jhin also sit above even. Jhin stands out for how rarely Smash dies on it, which suits a champion that does its damage from long range and sets up picks for the rest of the team. Yunara and Ashe have both broken even. That makes them reliable draft options rather than win conditions on their own.

Picks that are not

Ezreal is the uncomfortable one. Dplus Kia has drafted it as often as Lucian, yet it carries a losing record this season, and his career Ezreal record is below even too. The table suggests it is picked for what it gives the team, a safe lane and poke into a scaling composition, more than for the results it has produced. Corki also has a losing record and has not been played since 25 May 2026.

Mages and pocket picks

Ziggs is his most used bot lane mage and has a winning record on a small sample. Viktor and Mel have both been played fewer than five times, so their strong records are too small a sample to call either of them a strength. Kai’Sa is his most played champion across his career, but she has appeared only a handful of times in 2026 and has not lost yet. That is another small sample, but a reminder that the comfort pick is still there.

For teams drafting against Dplus Kia, breadth is the problem. Smash has shown more than a dozen champions this year across marksmen and mages. Banning out Lucian alone does not remove his lane-bully option, because Caitlyn and Miss Fortune also sit in the pool.

Pro builds

Smash’s builds share one idea: get spells back fast and survive the first engage. Each of his three most played champions has a fixed core item, and the rest of the build adapts to the enemy composition.

Lucian

Essence Reaver anchors every Lucian build, usually followed by Infinity Edge and Navori Flickerblade. That trio stacks crit with ability haste and cooldown refunds, so Lucian weaves more spells into every trade. Mortal Reminder, Guardian Angel and Lord Dominik’s Regards are his answers to healing, burst threats and tanky frontlines. The runes pair Press the Attack with Presence of Mind, Legend: Bloodline and Cut Down, plus Triple Tonic and Cash Back from Inspiration.

Yunara

Yunara is built for attack speed first. Kraken Slayer is the constant, Fiendhunter Bolts and Infinity Edge are the usual follow-ups, and Immortal Shieldbow or Guardian Angel come in when he needs to survive dives. Lethal Tempo with Absorb Life tells you he expects extended fights rather than the short trades his Lucian looks for.

Ezreal

His Ezreal uses the spell-weaving setup: Muramana and Trinity Force in every build, then Spear of Shojin and Serylda’s Grudge for more haste and armor penetration. Lethal Tempo with Legend: Haste and Jack Of All Trades leans further into ability haste. All three champions run Barrier with Flash rather than Heal. That defensive choice says he would rather live through the first dive than sustain his support.

Recent pro games

His latest games come from the LCK 2026 Season Playoffs, where Dplus Kia faced BNK FEARX, KT Rolster and T1 in early September. Lucian and Jhin were his repeat picks across those series. Ashe, Miss Fortune, Sivir, Ziggs, Yunara and Ezreal filled the remaining drafts, which shows how widely Dplus Kia uses his pool under playoff pressure.

The T1 series on 6 September 2026 is worth studying if you play bot. Dplus Kia cycled through Ezreal, Jhin, Ashe and Lucian, so you can see one player adjust his laning and teamfight position across four very different champions against the same opponent. Every game in the table has a Watch link.

Smash LoL career: from T1 to Dplus Kia

Smash’s listed team history begins at T1, where he played bot from 30 November 2024 to 4 June 2025. His 2025 numbers on pro scoreboards were the strongest of his career so far, with a winning record well above even across a full season of games.

He signed with Dplus Kia on 6 December 2025 and has been its bot laner throughout 2026. That season has meant a new team, a heavier farming role and a wider champion pool, and it has already produced his first trophy. His career totals sit in the table below, and Kai’Sa and Lucian remain the champions he has played most.
