Current Gen.G roster

Gen.G runs a settled, veteran five: Kiin in the top lane, Canyon in the jungle, Chovy in the mid lane, Ruler on bot and Duro at support. All five starters have played every game of the main lineup’s season together, so there has been no rotation in the starting roster to account for.

The coaching staff is Nova, Lyn and Ryu. A second lineup (Ripple, Courage, Kemish, MUDAI and Lumos) appears in the player stats for a handful of games, none of them wins; it has no bearing on the main roster’s numbers or on the team that plays at Worlds.

2026 season record and player stats

Gen.G’s 2026 season is the record of a team that wins most of what it plays: a large positive margin in series and an even stronger one in individual games. The shape of the record matters more than the totals. Losses are spread thin, and the team rarely drops consecutive series in the same event.

The clearest split is by side. Gen.G is far stronger on blue side than on red, where it still wins more than it loses but by a much smaller margin. Blue side gives the first pick, and for a team that likes to take a flex champion early and hide its lane assignments, that first rotation is worth a lot. Opponents who reach a deciding game on blue side have a real opening.

Games run a little over half an hour on average. That reads as a team that converts leads rather than one that drags games into late-game coin flips: once Gen.G is ahead, it ends.

Carry duties are shared rather than concentrated. Chovy has the best KDA of the starting five and dies the least, the profile of a mid laner who almost never gives the enemy a free shutdown. Ruler takes the most kills per game, which is where the team’s damage is funneled late. Duro’s assist line is the highest on the team, a sign of a support who is present for nearly every fight, and Canyon’s mix of kills and assists shows a jungler who plays for his lanes as much as for himself.

Kiin’s KDA is the lowest of the five, though still comfortably positive. That fits a top laner often asked to play front line or absorb pressure on the weak side while the rest of the map gets the resources.

Draft priorities

Gen.G drafts around flexibility. Its most picked champion is Ambessa, and the next tier (Seraphine, Ryze, Jhin, Galio) mixes champions that can move between roles with comfort picks that fit a scaling bot lane. Several of the top ten, including Seraphine, Pantheon and Ambessa, are champions that can be drafted before the opponent knows where they will land.

Jhin and Galio stand out among the most played picks for how often they win. Jhin suits a bot laner who plays for clean positioning and long-range follow-up, and Galio gives the team a mid-lane engage tool that also protects carries. On the jungle side, Jarvan IV, Xin Zhao and Pantheon point to early skirmish pressure rather than a farming style.

The ban list is led by Orianna by a wide margin, so it is the one champion Gen.G most consistently refuses to face. Karma and Bard follow, both utility picks that can swing lane matchups and roams. Jayce, Poppy and Rumble are lane bullies and disruptors, which suggests Gen.G bans to keep its own lanes stable.

Jarvan IV appears on both lists: a champion Gen.G wants for itself and does not want to play against. Priorities like these shift with each balance update, so check the latest patch notes and our champion pages before reading too much into any single pick going into Worlds.

Recent form

Gen.G arrives at Worlds on the back of its best stretch of the year. The late summer was not flawless: the team lost a Rounds 3–4 series to Dplus Kia and went out of the KeSPA Cup 2026 after defeats to Hanwha Life Esports and DN SOOPers. Neither result carried into the playoffs.

In the LCK 2026 Season Playoffs, Gen.G beat KT Rolster and then Hanwha Life Esports twice in best-of-five series, the second of those on 13 September 2026 to take the title. Earlier in Rounds 3–4 it had already beaten T1 and Hanwha Life Esports, so the playoff run confirmed a pecking order that the regular season had set up. History and titles

Gen.G’s trophy cabinet is built on domestic dominance with one gap at the top. The early titles came with the Korea Regional Finals 2018 and LCK 2020 Spring, and the team reached the Worlds semifinals in 2021, its first top-four finish at the World Championship.

The current era starts in 2022. Gen.G won LCK 2022 Summer and its playoffs, then reached the Worlds semifinals again. In 2023 it won both the Spring and Summer playoffs and finished fourth at MSI 2023. In 2024 it won LCK Spring, the Spring Playoffs, MSI 2024 and LCK Summer, then finished in the top four at Worlds once more.

2025 was the most complete year in the team’s history: LCK Rounds 1–2, the Road to MSI, MSI 2025, the Esports World Cup 2025, Rounds 3–5 and the Season Playoffs, followed by another Worlds semifinal. Back-to-back MSI titles in 2024 and 2025 make Gen.G one of the strongest international teams of the period.

2026 has continued the pattern at home with the LCK Cup, Rounds 3–4 and the Season Playoffs, alongside top-four finishes at First Stand 2026 and the Esports World Cup 2026. The one trophy missing from the list is the Worlds title itself: the semifinals in 2021, 2022, 2024 and 2025 are the ceiling so far.
