Chovy LoL: Career, Champions and Worlds 2026

Chovy (Jeong Ji-hoon, 정지훈) is a South Korean mid laner who plays for Gen.G in the LCK. Born on 3 March 2001, he has been Gen.G’s mid laner since 12 January 2022. He is known for a deep mage pool, very high farm numbers and a long list of LCK titles.

His 2026 has followed the same pattern. Gen.G won the LCK Cup 2026 and the LCK 2026 Season Playoffs with him in mid, and the organization goes to Worlds 2026 as Korea #1. The one result still missing from his record is a Worlds title.

Chovy is winning slightly more often in 2026 than he did in 2025, and his KDA has held level. The 2025 season was a heavy one: 163 games at a 71.8% win rate. This year’s game count is lower so far, but the season is not over and Worlds is still to come.

The shape of his games has changed more than the results. He is taking more kills and more CS per minute than last year, but he deals a smaller share of Gen.G’s damage. In 2025 that share was 27.3%. His kill participation and assists are down too.

Read together, those numbers describe a mid laner who farms more of the map and leaves more of the teamfight damage to his carries. His vision per minute has also gone up, which fits a player spending more time setting up the map between fights. He has played fewer different champions so far than the 27 he used in 2025.

Ryze is Chovy’s most played champion of 2026 and the base of his pool. It is a scaling mage he can pick early in a draft. His win rate on Ryze is solid rather than spectacular, and two of his recent playoff losses came on the champion.

The picks that work best on a real sample are Galio and Anivia. Both have double-digit game counts and records well above his season average. Galio is a durable roaming pick whose ultimate lets him join fights across the map. Anivia is a zone-control mage that holds waves and splits fights.

Annie is his fourth regular pick and the one with the most damage per minute among his main champions, though her win rate sits below his season average. Azir had a short run early in the year that ended in almost all wins, but Chovy has not played him since 23 April 2026. Aurora is the one champion with a losing record on five or more games.

The rest of the list is pocket picks. Syndra, Akali, Cassiopeia and Mel all appeared on small samples with good results. Across his career Azir is the champion he has played most, and Corki, Galio, Sylas and Ahri complete his signature list. Corki has not appeared in his games since 7 August 2025.

Chovy’s builds on his top three champions all aim at the same goal: survive lane, scale, and stay relevant in long games. On Ryze he opens Rod of Ages into Seraph’s Embrace every time, then usually adds Actualizer and Chainlaced Crushers. That is a mana and health scaling path, so he is playing for the 30-minute fight, not an early lead.

His Ryze runes also lean defensive: Deathfire Touch from Sorcery with Resolve as the secondary tree, plus Flash and Ghost for movement in fights. On Galio he mixes damage and durability with Riftmaker, Hollow Radiance, Imperial Mandate and Zhonya’s Hourglass. Stormraider’s Surge and Teleport point to a Galio who wants to reach fights quickly, not one who sits in lane.

Anivia follows the Ryze template. He builds Rod of Ages first in every game, then Hextech Rocketbelt and Swiftmarch for mobility before Malignance or Seraph’s Embrace. He runs Electrocute from Domination with a Sorcery secondary, which shows he still wants to punish trades in lane.

Chovy’s latest games come from the LCK 2026 Season Playoffs against KT Rolster and Hanwha Life Esports. Across those series he spread his picks over Ryze, Akali, Sylas, Viktor, Vex, Syndra, Lissandra and even Locke. That range is the takeaway: in a playoff run that ended with Gen.G lifting the trophy on 13 September 2026, opponents could not ban him out of the draft.

Chovy’s listed career starts at DragonX, which he joined on 23 December 2019 and played for until 31 May 2020. He then played mid for DRX from 17 June 2020 to 31 October 2020. He spent the following year at Hanwha Life Esports, from 21 December 2020 to 6 November 2021.

The move to Gen.G on 12 January 2022 changed his career. Every title in his achievements list comes from his Gen.G years, starting with LCK 2022 Summer. He has stayed with the organization since, which makes him one of the most settled mid laners in the LCK.

Chovy’s record splits into domestic dominance and international near-misses that have turned into wins outside Worlds. In Korea, Gen.G with Chovy has won LCK titles every year since 2022, including the LCK 2024 Spring and LCK 2024 Summer splits and both 2025 and 2026 Season Playoffs.

Internationally, MSI 2024, MSI 2025 and Esports World Cup 2025 are his biggest wins. Worlds has been harder: his runs in 2022, 2024 and 2025 all ended at 3rd–4th. His 2026 international results so far are 3rd–4th at First Stand 2026 and 3rd at Esports World Cup 2026. That makes Worlds 2026 the event that will shape how this season is remembered.

Chovy plays Korean solo queue at Challenger, and his ranked pool is wider than the one he shows on stage. Hwei is his most played ranked champion, with Azir close behind. He also plays champions he rarely brings to pro play, such as Tristana and Aatrox. LeBlanc, a champion he has not played in a pro game since 28 February 2024, still has a strong record in his ranked games.
