Zeus LoL: Career, Champions and Worlds 2026

Zeus won two World Championships with T1 and has added First Stand and MSI titles at Hanwha Life Esports. His stats, champion pool, builds and Worlds 2026 schedule are below.

Zeus, real name Choi Woo-je (최우제), is a South Korean League of Legends top laner who plays for Hanwha Life Esports in the LCK. He made his name at T1, where he won back-to-back World Championships in 2023 and 2024. Since joining Hanwha Life in 2025 he has added First Stand 2025 and MSI 2026 titles. He is known for a deep top lane pool built around Gnar and Jayce, and he is just as comfortable on lane bullies as on frontline picks.

2026 season stats

Zeus is winning at about the same rate as in 2025 while getting more out of each minute in lane. He closed 2025 with a 64.5% win rate across 169 games, and his 2026 results sit in the same range. Hanwha Life’s top side remains one of the most reliable parts of the roster.

The shape of his games has shifted more than the results. His CS/min and damage/min are both up on last season, yet he takes a smaller share of his team’s damage and joins fewer of its kills. Read together, those lines point to a top laner who farms harder and fights more on his own terms in the side lane, while Hanwha Life routes more of its carry load through other roles.

His pool is also wider. He has already used more distinct champions in 2026 than the 28 he played across all of 2025. That matters in best-of-five series, where opponents spend bans on a top laner’s comfort picks and a deep pool keeps the draft open.

Zeus champions and pro win rates

Gnar is the backbone of his 2026 season. It is his most played champion this year and across his career, and it gives Hanwha Life a top laner who can trade from range early and turn into a frontline in teamfights. Ambessa is his second most played pick and his main melee carry option this season.

Jayce is the standout. On a real sample, it holds the best record of anything he plays in 2026, and it is also the champion on which his damage output peaks. When Zeus gets Jayce, Hanwha Life gets lane pressure, poke before objectives and a top laner who can carry fights from the back line.

Behind those three, Yorick and Sion have both produced strong records on enough games to take seriously. Sion stands out for how rarely he dies on it, which fits a pick meant to soak pressure and start fights. Yorick gives him a split-push threat that pulls opponents to the side lane while his team sets up elsewhere.

Not every pick has landed. Anivia, a mage counter-pick in top lane, carries a losing record, and Rumble and Olaf have hovered around even. Camille, Aatrox and Swain have each been played only a handful of times this year, too few games to call them strong or weak. You can compare any of these picks with solo queue data on our champion pages.

Pro builds

His builds show a top laner who wants to win lane, hold it and convert the lead into turret pressure. Flash and Teleport are fixed on all three of his most played champions, so he keeps the option to join a fight on the far side of the map without giving up his lane.

Gnar

Sterak’s Gage and Trinity Force are locked in on Gnar, with Wit’s End as the usual answer to magic damage and Guardian Angel as an occasional safety pick. He runs Fleet Footwork in Precision with a Resolve secondary that includes Bone Plating and Overgrowth. This is a sustain-first setup that keeps him healthy through ranged trades and makes him hard to burst once fights break out.

Ambessa

Eclipse is his first item on Ambessa every time, followed by Spear of Shojin or Death’s Dance depending on the game. Guardian Angel and Maw of Malmortius are his defensive answers. The rune page is Grasp of the Undying with Shield Bash, Second Wind and Unflinching, plus Biscuit Delivery and Cosmic Insight from Inspiration. The page favors long, winning trades in lane over early all-ins.

Jayce

Jayce is where the build turns aggressive. Muramana comes first every game, with Serpent’s Fang and Serylda’s Grudge as his common follow-ups and Black Cleaver or Voltaic Cyclosword as alternatives. Grasp of the Undying with Demolish shows how much he values turret damage on this champion, and Triple Tonic with Cosmic Insight adds value from Inspiration. If you want the fundamentals behind setups like these, our guides cover lane trading and item choices.

Zeus’s LoL career: T1 to Hanwha Life

Zeus joined T1 on 13 January 2021 and spent nearly four years there as the starting top laner. His T1 run ended on 2 November 2024, the same day the team won Worlds 2024, so he left the organization as a reigning world champion.

The T1 years built steadily. In 2022 he won LCK 2022 Spring and the Spring Playoffs, then finished second at both MSI 2022 and Worlds 2022. In 2023 he won LCK 2023 Spring and took his first world title at Worlds 2023. In 2024 he won the Esports World Cup 2024 and then Worlds 2024.

He joined Hanwha Life Esports on 15 January 2025, and the move paid off at once. Hanwha Life won the LCK Cup 2025 on 23 February 2025 and First Stand 2025 on 16 March 2025. In 2026 the team took LCK 2026 Rounds 1–2 and the LCK 2026 Road to MSI, then won MSI 2026 on 12 July 2026.

Achievements

Two world titles, Worlds 2023 and Worlds 2024, are the core of his résumé, and he was also runner-up at Worlds 2022. Few top laners have reached three consecutive World Championship finals, and he started in all three for T1.

MSI 2026 matters for a different reason. He had finished second at MSI 2022 and third at both MSI 2023 and MSI 2024, so the 2026 win closed the gap in his international record. Together with First Stand 2025, it means he has now won international titles with two different organizations, which answers any question about whether his success depended on one roster.
